Our solutions have been utilized in a broad range of defense platforms deployed on land, at sea and in the air including vessels, submarines, and aircraft as well as monitoring equipment for border security purposes. Capabilities to provide custom manufacturing, and Contract Research and Development at Weir-Jones Group have broadened over the years; this allows us to undertake a wide range of projects and deliver solutions on time and within budget to our clients.

As an example, under the terms of a system development contract from Defense Research Establishment Suffield (DRES), Weir-Jones developed and manufactured a real-time missile and projectile tracking system -  AutoTRAQ. The system fused trajectory data (velocity, azimuth, and elevation) with a digital map (topography, vegetation, and target data) so that range personnel could not only see the relative position of the missile/projectile and the target, but also evaluate the safety of the exercise in light of the range boundary parameters. Another example is manufature of precision accelerometers which are used in the fuel and guidance system on Military aircraft.  Acoustic based detection systems have also been developed for a variety of security and tracking applications.
